The 86 participants, mostly from the Oneonta area’s arts community, asked Mayor Dick Miller to consider dedicating resources — perhaps a staff position or even a city Office of Culture & the Arts — to help promote the city as a regional hub for the arts.
At first blush, Miller said, he didn’t like the idea.  However,  by the end of a lively back-and-forth he concluded that maybe that would help in organizing and marketing Oneonta as a destination.
After the summit, the mayor said he will spend the next week assessing inputs and contemplating the next step.
