Slain Trucker’s Widow To Protest I-88 Rest-Area Closings

Jason and his Son
WORCESTER:

Otsego County’s state delegation will gather at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the I-88 rest stop near Worcester to protest state DOT efforts to close that site and several other rest areas.
State Sen. Jim Seward, R-Milford, will be joined by Assemblymen Marc Butler, R-Newport, and Pete Lopez, R-Schoharie.
Also speaking will be Hope Rivenburg, whose husband, Jason, a truck driver from Schoharie County, was murdered at an abandoned gas station in South Carolina while resting in his rig.
Rivenburg’s slaying occurred in March 2009, and his assailant, who stole $7 from his victim, received a life term in prison in August.
